Questionaire-Skin Type 5

Your skin type is "5" and your tolerance to UV Radiation is: Skin is brown and is very UVR tolerant.

People with a skin type 5 rarely burn; tan easily and substantially, and always exhibit immediate pigment darkening (IPD) reaction. The physical characteristics of people with skin type 5 most often have brown-skin with unexposed skin that is brown (East Indians, Hispanics, etc.).

Outdoor Recommendation:
If you are a skin type 5, it is recommended that you use a sunscreen with sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 4-8, depending on the duration of time you are outdoors.

Indoor Recommendation:
Ask your salon professional to help you determine the recommended exposure time for a skin type 5 based upon the tanning equipment you will be using.

Note: Please be aware of the fact that certain medications, foods and other substances may increase sensitivity to ultraviolet radiation. If you suspect that you are using a product that may temporarily increase your sensitivity to UVR, you should reduce your exposure time. Check with your tanning salon professional for additional information regarding "Substances Known To Cause Photosensitivity" before tanning. We recommend sensible, moderate and responsible exposure to ultraviolet radiation.
