I saw this sweater 2-3 weeks ago at one of the adidas outlet @ bugis area. It captured my fullest attention when it's being on display.

I told my sentosa group of friends that day, I will get it...

I eventually got it last week at Citylink.

Citibank was having a 10% off the retail price and I find it quite a good deal therefore I decided to buy it.

More importantly, I am claiming from my company through the flexi benefit which is given to all employee :-)

My New Work Station

Wednesday the Estate Personnel together with Contractor came to my office to build my new work station. I was there to see the building of the work station. Although I didn't stay till the completion but I was there to view it.

When I reached office on Thursday morning, it's been built up! I started shifting bit by bit and to design the work station.

This new work station is bigger than my previous one - bigger work station meaning more jobs to do. This is true - well, I have 5 more programmes / events scheduled in July!

Well, next time can't say I got nothing to do... It seemed after getting this work station, jobs are now all piling up! I guessed I can say good bye to my honey moon!

Good News: Studies & New Workspace

I have 2 good news to share...

1st - I applied for my degree at UNISIM few months back, I did went for interview and yes I was offered a place in Jan 2010 intake. The degree (Marketing) is a hot course! However last friday I received a call from UNISIM and they are offering me a place in this coming July 2009 intake.

I accepted it and they mail me the confirmation letter and other paperwork. I am supposed to make payment for the modules and select my modules by 26 June 2009. I had made all my selection yesterday. Instead of taking 4 modules I only took 3 modules. The offer was rather last minute and a lot of others modules are full. Well, the time frame is so short. What can I do?

Looking forward to be back to study! At least now I can enjoy student benefit :-)

2nd - I am moving into my new work station on Thursday. It would be build tomorrow according to my Reporting Officer - Senior Manager, Ms Ang Lee Lee. The arrangement is made because the college had approved another 2 more staffs. Both of the staffs will be coming on 29 June 2009. One is a poly grad and the one is from MFA.

My current office only left with 1 seat and since now 2 of them coming, they need to build a new work desk and I was being offered. This work desk is located right behind, meaning to say is more PRIVACY! :-)

Finally back in blogging...

It's been a long exhausting and tiring week at work. But thankfully I gotten this job which suit my personality and character. It's not 100% desk bound!

This is how I reward myself for the good work I done!

Last friday after work, I headed down to Queenstown MRT and waited for my race buddy; Nicholas Sim. We are heading down to MS for dinner. While on the train, we are still deciding what to eat and till we stick back to the first idea - CA. (Thanks to Angela who recommended me last last week after Sentosa. I am so addicted)

Like that Nicholas mentioned, our dinner are always overkill!

June Gathering @ THE Chevrons

Recap: Before I ORD, we had an agreement to meet up on a monthly basis. The monthly basis is for us to update each other whereabout and to share anything.

The team includes, LTC James Teo (previous 40 CO), MAJ Sima (previous 40 S4/OC HQ), 1WO Ang (previous 40 RQMS), 2WO Ee (previous 40 Chief), SSG Willie (previous 40 Signal Storce IC) and I (previous 40 Resource IC)

This month gathering we held it on 11 June 09 @ THE Chevrons, less LTC James as he's unable to make it.

However, I want to congrats LTC James Sir! He's upgraded now meaning within the next 1 or 2 year he will get his COL.

We had our dinner at HANS at Chevrons by MAJ and moving on to drink (beer and red wine) by Encik.

It was a meaningful and enjoyable session! We all had our laughter and even more laughter throughout the whole night!

Yes no doubt that I am looking forward to Sundown Marathon 2010. But this time round, I want to be a marathon pacer!

Being a marathon pacer, I am still able to run a marathon but at the same time I still can help those who wish to complete within a certain hours to fulfill their dreams!

Well, I am not sure how is the selection like. But I guessed the selection is pretty tough! Anyway I think with my records of marathon timing, getting in the pacer shouldn't be a problem... well...

I am looking at an easy pacer - under 5 hours or under 5:30 hours ...

Sundown Marathon 2009

30th May 2009 is an important milestone for my race buddy, Nicholas and I. It's the day that we set our to challenge our limit - Sundown Ultra Marathon 2009.

In fact we signed up on last year dec but all along we didn't train as we were busy with our respective work / school. That's unbelievable. Whereas for me, I just don't have the self discipline to train up!

I meet up with Nicholas at Commonwealth MRT at 4:30pm and we headed straight to the starting point at Changi Village.

The organizers are busy setting up the event booth!

This will be my one and only ultra! it's a killer!

Nicholas is really a good runner! Don't under estimate him! He is my best good race buddy - our stamina and speed is compile with each other!

Thanks to all his words of encouragement and advise to see me through! I am surprised throughout the whole journey he didn't use any deep heat at all!

Well, looking at it I feel so envy! If I had taken good care on my knee during my secondary school cross country time, I won't encounter knee injury now! :-(

Ultra is really cool, there a transit point after you finished the 1st loop! We rest about 2o to 25 minutes before we set off for the 2nd loop! We basically change to dry singlet and sock... I regretted not bring another pair of running shoe because after the first loop the shoe is so chiu already - hot! Well, nevertheless it is a good experience!

Now I am suffering from post race injuries... My left calf is pull, my right knee is so swollen and my right foot got bruise.

Oh well, I did my last bit of preparation towards to Sundown Marathon this 2 days!

Yesterday after work, I did a run from office back home and today I did a run from home to office! Although the distance is only 4 to 5 km (per trip) but it is better than nothing! Yes I understand that I would be doing my ULTRA (84 KM)!!!

I want to forgo but then again I guess is my pride and stubborn-ness that I still want to go ahead despite lacking of training! I will just take it easy and most importantly is to enjoy the course of the race!

I read the post-event guide and it stated that the cut off timing for Ultra is 15 hours and 7 hours 30 minutes (1st Loop). Meaning to say if a runner can not meet either the expectation timing for 1st loop and overall, that's it!!! The organizer will stop you then!

Tomorrow after work, I would be heading to Queensway Shopping Centre to get myself a knee guard! I definitely need to wear knee guard (right knee) because I know my knee sure to give up half way. Nevertheless, it is not going to be the negative factor to pull me down!

I can do it and YES I definitely able to DO IT!!!

Day 1 @ Civil Service College

After a series of job hunting, I finally got myself accepted by Civil Service College (CSC). The appointment that is being offered to me is known as Executive, Cilent Management Team under the Insititute of Policy Development (IPD).

Today is my first day at work, I reached CSC level 6 at 8:25am to meet up with the HR personnel, Ms Wai Yee and soon I am given my tempoary pass and usher to my office at Level 5.

There's a special workshop - writing skills for all IPD personnels. It is requested by the management as CSC IPD dealing with professional public service leaders therefore staffs are to learn how to write professionally.

It is a full 2 days courses held at Ginger Room Level 5. A very interesting course but well some portion is so boring till I want to fall asleep...

After today session ended, I went back to my desk and the IT department had gotten my workdesk set up! Soon my buddy came over and she guided me on how to check the email - they uses Lotus Notes not MS Outlook. It is similar but still I prefer outlook at least it is more user friendly!

To sum up, alot of other stuffs for me are not out yet - the 'SAP' system (leave, pay, claims, suggestions)

Look at my area... Tomorrow I would be bring necessary and setting up my workplace!

Once everything is done or rather setup, I will upload the finally layout to show you all again! Haha!!!

Sundown Marathon Race Pack Collection

Today is the start of the Sundown Marathon Race Pack Collection.

I left office this morning at 10:30am and took a bus to Millennia Walk as this is the place where the race pack collect is held. I am supposed to meet up with Nicholas, my race buddy but he was with his girlfriend and they reached at 10:30 am.

They started to queue up and by the time I reached at 11:05 am the queue is already so long, till the display booth counter! I called Nicholas and thankfully he is still queuing!

He is one of those early bird that starts queuing even before the collection start.

I quickly passed him my race confirmation slip and NRIC. I waited till his turn and I walked up to join him.

After the collection, we walked over to the Velocity booth - where Power Bar are! We shopped around the booth and gotten power gel (me); power gel & power bar (Nicholas). Initially I wanted to get it at Running Lab as I have discount but after doing my own calculation, the road show here is cheaper than RL.

I departed after I gotten my race pack and power gel. I went back to Office and to work for another hour before heading for my lunch!

Sigh... Race is coming and yet I haven't have any discipline to train! The last official long run is on 1st May with Andre! The distance covered is only 13.55 km!

STRESS! STRESS! STRESS!!!!

Last Day @ MAXIMAS Group Pte Ltd

It been a long time since I last update my blog! I am finally back today!

Early this month, I was been invited by MAXIMAS Group to attend this one day free BA workshop. This BA workshop will enable to participant to know what kind of job is suitable for them through a series of surveys and games!

Since there's nothing to do at home, I went down for this workshop! Yeah no doubt that my network increase and I get to know a few good friends! But surprisingly after the workshop, I was pull out by the trainer to look for Max, one of the managing director.

And on the spot I was been offered the job - Events Executive!

I started my first day work on 11th May 2009! But I didn't offer the letter of offer yet! Max is busy that week and so am I.

Well, early this week I gotten a phone call from CSC! Yes I am employed by them and of course I accepted their offer! After-all it is a government job - more benefits and others! Then on Tuesday, I break the bad and good new to Max.

Bad new: I am being offered a better job outside and I had decided to accept their offer

Good new: I gotten you someone who has passion for events and is able to start work immediately.

With effect from then, my understudy came. I taught him everything I know and after today he will be alone running the whole show! Yes I have faith in him that he can do well! I think I had set the benchmark too high! Just within this short 8 working days, I had impressed both my superiors and others and suddenly I am leaving! They keep asking my understudy whether is he able to cope!

I can sense that he feel kind of a bit pressure!

Last Saturday after a wonderful good fun time at Sentosa Siloso, I left after shower! Head straight to Bukit Merah Central Happy Joy Restaurant to celebrate my mum birthday! Her actual day is 6th May!

We are having Steamboat buffet!

Personally, I think that the food is not up to be expected; very average! But the service is good!

1st Training towards Sundown Ultra Marathon

The last minute training and mileage clocking session for Sundown Marathon finally starts!

I met up with Andre this morning at 7:00am at Depot Road. Yes we are going for our long run together! He is training up for his Full-Marathon while I am training up for my Ultra-Marathon.

Not to mentioned that Andre is already a pro-marathon runner! Marathon to him doesn't seem to have any kick... But for me - Ultra is really a killer! Yes I know I gotten advise from that someone special of mine to back-up and "Live for another".

I refused because I had asked one of my friend to run this ultra since last year. If I redraw it then what about him?

The only concern I have is I am scare that after the ultra I am unable to run another more :-( I hope it is just a duly worry for myself.

Total Distance Covered: 13.55 km (me) & 11.55 km (Andre) [All the distances are measured by the Polar Foot-Pod]

I ran from my house to meet up with him and from my house to the destination, the distance is 2 km.

Route: Depot Road -> Hort Park -> Kent Ridge Road -> Science Park II -> NACLI -> Pasi Panjang -> PSA -> Telok Blangah Drive

Personally, I feel that the route is very challenging especially with all the UPSLOPE! It's really a killer! Well, I need to be discipline this whole month because I need to get my legs and muscle moving! I have no more time to waste!

Ultra-Marathon - I hope it would be one and only 1 for me!

Ultra Marathon Symptoms

Adidas Sundown Marathon is just 1 month away!

Yes I am feeling so freak off!

For that once I feel so scared of race! I would be embarking into my first ever ultra marathon this may... This is one of the race that I am not both mentally and physical prepared. I feel so frighten!

Ultra-marathon is 84km and basically doing 2 loops of full-marathon at one go! I am thinking if this race is just a full-marathon, I won't be feel so uneasy!

After-all the longest mileage I clocked is only 12 km. But this 12 km was a unpleasant run! I want to get back running long distance but my mind seem weak. I am not discipline and focus enough.

I have another concern. I am so scared that after I finished this race I won't be able to embark into competitive running more! I set to conquer 10 conservative SCM and till date I had only completed 4! On the other hand I just don't want to give up on this ultra!

Can someone please advise me!

After resting for about 1 month I started getting back into running! But the outcome is so demoralizing!

Today I went down to MacRitchie for a run with a group of professional runners. The distance covered today is 11 km with a lot of up and down slopes! I started the race per normal until I hit 3 km bench mark (If I am right) I started running out of breath! Well, I think maybe because I haven't been running that regularly and suddenly going for mileage, I feel hard to cope with it!

Running at MacRitchie is one of my phobia! The grounds are undulating! Baiscally throughout the run I keep losing my balance for every step I take! I feel too but thankfully only minor abrasion. When I hit 7 km, I pull my left calf muscle! It's so painfully until I stopped and walked about 10 minutes before forcing myself to continue to course!

Just imagine running with tight calf muscle for the rest of the distance! I am surprised that I managed to complete it (the last 4 km)! I thought I would be walking back instead but my determination see me through!

After I crossed the finishing line, XXX teased me of being slow and my pull calf muscle :-( I am injured and suffered; is the teasing doing it on purpose or? I feel so disappointed in both!

I simply wish that I am able to resume to normal within the next few days! I want to be the 1 month ago dino in term of endurance in long distance running!

Any advices?

My newly brought shoe - I had gotten it on last Thursday (9th April 2009)! It now looked as if I had been wearing it for a long time! I am going to wash it soon!

Sigh... I am down with throat infection! Whenever I swallow my saliva, I feel the pain! :-(

I went for a run this morning at 7:50 with my new GT 2130... I geared up in my running attire (yellow top and bottom) and most importantly with my foot pod!

The total distance I covered is 10km with a timing of 47 minutes!

Route: From house -> Queensway Shopping Centre -> AIA Building -> PSA Building -> Telok Blangah Drive -> Vivo City -> Kampong Bahur -> Outram -> TBP -> Redhill -> home

I feel so weak throughout the run! The last time I ran was 4 weeks ago!

I haven't been running for so long and during the race my knee (right) give way till I had to keep pushing myself forward! I could hard run normal after I hit PSA! I just can't control my breathing! As I am trying to control, my mouth (left) side just simply don't seemed to cooperate with me! :-(

After the run, I cooked lunch for myself - my pastas in cream sauce!

Initially I thought I am still in the process of recovering from the surgery and after a good sleep I would be alright! I am wrong!

After the nap, I am feeling more restless and with painful everywhere. Plus my body is so warm! No matter what I want to do I simply cannot focus! Then I decided to measure my temperature!

Sad to say I am down with Fever - 38.1 degree!

I hate this kind of weak and restless feeling! Damn it!

Fruitful Day

I went to Alexander Hospital this morning as I have an appointment with Dental Clinic E1 @ 10:48am. The purpose of this session is to remove all the stitches! I waited till 11:30 in the morning before I was called in. Hmm... I thought with appointment the time is fix!

There came the female doctor who opened my mouth and use a pair of scissor to... In more time, the stitches are removed! She passed me the syringe, demonstrate how to use and instruct me to use each time after I finished my meal.

I went back home to take a short break before I went out to meet Nicholas @ Commonwealth MRT! We are meeting at 1:00pm as we are going down to Key Power International Pte Ltd - Pearl Izume Outlet! As per agreed last week that somewhere this week, I will accompany him to go down to view and try PI Shoe.

~ His senior mentioned that PI is a good shoe and he is so tempted to try! It's hard to find PI shoe and thankfully I have contact in PI shoe! ~

We took a train from Commonwealth to Bedok; followed by a bus ride to the shop (282 Changi Road Singapore 419761) It's so hard to find the shop. Guess what!

After we alighted, we walked up to where SPC petrol located and still we couldn't find the shop. I called up Eddie and he directed us.

The shop is actual located at the bus stop where we alighted. We seemed so dumb! Haha!

Oh before I forget! Nicholas had kindly ordered this crystal casing for my ipod touch through ebay! I wonder how do he managed to find on ebay and most importantly the price is really cheap!

The touch is now protected with a casing!

I feel so secured!

Eventually after staying at the shop for about hours, Nicholas finally gotten himself a pair of stability cushioning shoe (BLACK)! It is a recommendation from Eddie!

The selling price of the shoe is S$216 and thank you ~ Eddie for giving such a good discount (XX%)! I guessed one can find that good discount for PI shoe! :P

Through this opportunity, I finally get to understand the technology behind and also know why PI shoe are so expensive!

Nicholas now you finally got a new pair of running shoe! Let's start our last minute training for our Sundown Ultra - of course after your exams (29 April 2009)! Happy Studying!!!

Good Deal Dino!

After which we headed to Singapore Expo Hall 5 as there're John Little Sales! Our purpose of visiting is to find cheap running tight but to our amazement, there isn't any tight but a lot stuffs & are selling at a super low price!

We basically combed through the whole expo hall before leaving to Bugis Junction for our dinner! I suggested to Nicholas to try out V8 as he heard went & try before! Again we travel from the East to Central!

After the dinner we departed, I went to Running Lab @ Funan to collect my pair of asisc GT2130 that I ordered end last month. I am collecting it today as I am using Lucas Staff's purchase @ 35%!

Finally I had a new pair of running shoe and it's been added to my personal collections! I had a fruitful day today!

Wisdom Tooth Surgery

I went for my 4 wisdom tooth extraction at AH this morning! I think hardly anyone will actually removed 4 at one time! Because simply by removing 1 or 2 already hurts so much!

In fact, I went on fasting since midnight (2nd April) not even a single slip of water! And I went to AH with a hungry stomach and weak in energy!

After registration at 10:30am, I was been directed to my ward and bed - Ward 1 Bed 15... I get changed into the surgery attire and was on the bed waiting for my turn. According to the paper I gotten the first time, my surgery is supposed to start at 11:00am and instead I waited till 12:00pm.

The nurse came to me and ask me to go up now! Upon reaching the operation theatre, those nurses and doctors keep asking me the same questions:

1. What is your NRIC ?

2. What is your Name?

3. Any drug implication?

4. What surgery am I doing?

5. How many wisdom tooth to be removal?

Finally a doctor came and he started poking the needle on my hand as I would be on general Anesthetics. Then I was asked to go into the theatre!

Soon, I was ASLEEP and it declare the start of the surgery!

I was push back to the ward at 2:45pm and officially left the AH at 4:20pm! I was been given a total of 8 days MC! On the 9th April, I am supposed to visit the doctor to remove the stitches!

Wonderful Trip: i-pod touch + Stringray

I met up with my race buddy, Nicholas Sim at Jurong East @ 5:45pm. We are going to eat my favourite string-ray - just before my surgery on this coming Friday (3rd April). Because after which I won't be able to eat any solid food at all! Well, I think no solid food for about 1 to 2 weeks!

We took a train from Jurong East all the way to Toa Payoh to meet up with Kah Beng's cousin, Audrey to collect my i-pod touch.

Kah Beng went back to Perth for his second semester and he had gotten a i-pod touch from me as is definitely cheaper as compared to Singapore - still there is tax rebate!

Audrey went there for holiday and had collect on my behalf.

Can you imagine that we spend 2 hours plus travelling from Jurong East to Toa Payoh and after which from Toa Payoh to Yew Tee for our stringray!

Half way through the journey we both are so hungry but then now no choice as we are still struck in the train.

Thank you to Nicholas who taught me how to install all the free applications and more! Pls for your treat on the stringray and others! You had ordered so much that thankfully we managed to finish it! Haha...

Shall meet up with you next week to get songs and to go see your pearl izume shoe before getting our asics shoe! Let me know when you want to go down to view the shoe!

After work, I met up with Nicholas Sim, my race buddy! We are going to running lab to get ourselves a pair of running shoe for the sundown ultra marathon! To my surprise, I came to notice that Running Lab no longer has SAFRA Running Club Discount!

According to the information I got, the boss, Walter spoken to SAFRA Running Club proposing for him to reduce the discount from 30% to 20% but the club rejected!

Well, initially we are there to buy shoe using my SAFRA Running Club discount but we can’t. Thanks to Lucas (I recommended him to work there after ORD) telling me that he will give me his 2 staffs purchases for the month of April. For the information please, each staff is entitle 3 staffs purchase each month!

We tried out shoes from Asics and Mizuno! I tried a total of 3 pairs of shoe – GT 2130, GT 2140 and DS Trainer (all Asics) while Nicholas tried GT 2140, DS Trainer, Kayanyo and Mizuno Nirvana.

We basically tried the shoe and keep running on the treadmill! I am so surprised that GT2130 this pair of moderate stability shoe fit my arch 100%. I feel so comfortable wearing and running with it! However I tried the GT2140 but I don’t get the feeling instead I feel that the support is pushing my arch and I feel uncomfortable running!

For your information, GT2130 is the normal width and GT2140 (new model) is the 2E width (boarder width).

After 1 hour spent at running lab, both of us had decided on the shoe we want! Lucas had kindly reserved both pair under my name so when the month of April comes, we will go down and make the purchase using his staff discount – 35%!

I started to question those inside office who actually give it to me... I keep asking but all keep denying but deep in my heart I know it is not Shirley, Celine and Jenny as they had already given me my birthday present on 12th March 2009.

I pressed on and keep pestering them; eventually they gave up...

The actual person is Evelyn and Amanda!

21st March 2009 - Saturday as usual, I met up with my group of Volleyball khakis (Jun Zhang, Angela, Brendon, Andre, Augustine, Milo & David) at Habour Front Control Station at 10:30am. Guess what both Jun Zhang & Angela were late as there are some dispute in train service.

Nevertheless we managed to reach Sentosa Tanjong Beach KM8 just in time for the volleyball! The weather is so good initially and just right for us to play 2 on 2!

I had a wonderful session and had enjoyed myself in all matches; ranging from 4-on-4 to 3-on-3 to 2-on-2,I played specially the 2-on-2; paired up with Angela. I am at my peak and so does Angela!

It's a total of 4 matches played conservatively as we WON each of every matches! Eventually we ended up so shag and exhausted!

3rd Match: Jun Zhang & Milo Vs Angela & I
4th Match: Jun Zhang & Augustine Vs Angela & I

The most interesting set is the last set where we keep deducing and finally we won just managed to lead by 2 points!

We quickly went to shower when the sky suddenly turn dark, thankfully we managed to make it unlike the previous few time where we are struck under the all hut during thunder rain!

Well.. This coming Saturday would be the last time that we would be going to KM8 as their lease will end on 31st March 2009.

Upon arriving at Vivo City, we accompanied Augustine to Pull Bear for some shopping and finally headed to Pasta Mania for dinner! They were all eating a complete course except me! I had only a cup of ice lemon tea and apple crumble pizza!

Half way through the dinner session, I left and met up with my 2nd Sis, mum and 2nd Brother in-law as we are going Vienna International Seafood Teppanyaki Restaurant for buffet!

It's a celebration treat from my 2nd sister who will be turning 26 on 22nd March 2009!

Post Birthday Celebration Part 2

On Sunday I had my Post - Birthday Celebration! I went out with a closed friend of mine to watch a movie - Race to Witch Mountain at Vivo City! The show is supposed to start at 4:20pm but we reached there at 4:35pm!

It's raining so heavily and jammed everywhere thus we were late but nevertheless is only a short delay! After gotten the pop-corn, we quickly walked into the cinema and there we were enjoy the movie!

Disney restarts their beloved Witch Mountain franchise with this family-friendly adventure. Dwayne Johnson (THE GAME PLAN) stars as a taxi driver who gets more than get bargained for when he picks up two teen runaways (AnnaSophia Robb and Alexander Ludwig). Not only does the pair possess supernatural powers, but they're also trying desperately to escape people who have made them their targets.

Personal Recommendation: 7 / 10 (For those who love Friction, you will definitely love this movie)

After which we did a bit of shopping at Vivo City before heading to my house coffee shop to have our dinner - the yummy duck rice! Thank god that by the time we reached there, there are still duck rice for us!

Today it is supposed to be a working day most of them but I am on leave! I spent 1 hour plus to play around with the i-Luv that I had gotten as for a birthday present! In that short 1 hour plus, I had set up the system, sync with my mac book and set all the settings - alarms and FM stations!

Before I set the time, alarm and FM...

After which I went to Vivo City together with my Mum and nephew! We went there to do shopping - went to Daiso to get some house hold items and eventually we walked around in shops ~ NUM (i wanted to get the slipper for my nephew but the min is 10 months where now he is only 9 months), Challenger to look at a present for my second sister - she want to have a ipod shuttle, BEST and Giant!

After which we had our lunch at a HK cafe at basement 1...

Before we left, my nephew had his fair share of fun at the toy machine!

I am so tired now! I still have a couple of things to do so I can not take an afternoon nap!

I am really so happy for this year birthday celebration! I had all sort of fun and I will always remembered it! Thank you to all who had contributed to make this a memorable and meaning birthday for me!

Post Birthday Celebration

Today I had my post birthday celebration with Felicia Hu; my poly best buddy! She stayed at the block beside me! I remembered those time where we usually will meet to go school and more! I missed those days!

I met her under her block at 5:15pm and we walked to the bus stop to wait for bus 196 as we are going to Suntec as I would like to buy the Braun Buffel Wallet. I had gotten the S$100.00 voucher from my colleagues on Thursday (12th March 2009).

It's so crowded at Suntec but thankfully we didn't go to the conventional centre area as that's where all the sales are!

We reached the braun buffel shop and I was looking at all the others design they had including the one that I wanted to get for myself. I had a hard time to decide on which wallet and design should i get... Finally I called up to seek advice that a good friend of mine! I finally heed his advice and gotten the wallet!

This design only left the last piece and no choice I take it! Thanks to you the salesperson who has kindly helped me to clean it and re-package it. The cost price of the wallet is S$119.00 and meaning to say that after I used the voucher I only pay S$19.00.

Next we did some window shopping and finally Felicia suggested to eat dinner at New York Place - We strolled to City Link and before heading toward New York Place, we passed by NUM (New Urban Male)...

After we passed by NUM, suddenly the common topic comes from our mouths ~ to get outside a new pair of slipper (me) and sandal (Felicia)... We went inside the shop and there's one slipper that attracted my attention and that's a bright yellow! However, they do not have my size and the nearest branch that has my size is cathay!

So we took a train to PS and stroll to Cathay to get our item! NUM is having sales today (all flip flop are on 20% discount)... There it come my birthday gift from Felicia! She insisted on getting me the slipper where I offered to buy!

We headed to Cathay Adidas Shop to try on the polo tee shirt (White based with orange strip in the chest and a logo on the right side of the sleeve) that I all along wanted. I tried the medium size and it fit me so much I really like it so much but I didn't buy it! It cost S$65.00.

I have an adidas voucher of 20% but it can only be used at non-concept shop (wing tai's outlet only) Instead both of us walked from Cathay to the non-concept located at Hereen and Paragon! I was putting high hope that I can get it at non-concept shop however at Hereen they don't have it... I told Felicia that we tried the last one at Paragon if they don't have we shall go back home.

Upon reaching the shop at paragon, the salesperson closing all the gate, I quickly ran over and ask if I am allowed to go in to take a look. The salesperson asked me how long I need to take. Just 5 minutes, I entered and quickly make my way to the polo-tee section but sad to say wing tai shop doesn't carry it! But something else caught my attention - a green line adidas polo tee! I grabbed it and went to the counter to ask if there's any new piece but bad new again!

Is the last piece! I proceeded with the payment and after discount is S$49.60! See just that 5 minutes, the salesperson clock a sales!

What a day! Everything I want to buy is all last piece!!!

Happy 24th Birthday to myself!

Since yesterday till now I had gotten sweet birthday wishes from friends and colleagues. I would sincerely like to thank them for their blessing! Teong Man, Alex Liew, Celine, Felicia, David Lee, Jenny, Yi Ting, Shirley, Fiona, Jun Zhang, Angela, Nicholas Sim, Kenny Ong, Alex Lim, Jie Yu, Shi Xiang. Sharon Lee!

I started my day by going market with mum and nephew; as she need to buy ingredient and to have breakfast together! After consuming breakfast and gotten the ingredient, we went to the cake shop as it's my nephew's routine to sit on the 20-cents machine.

Another gift from closed friend of mine! A really expensive gift! I love it so much! Thank you!

I went out Swensen for a celebration for dinner; was being given a complementary ice cream cake and after which headed to Boiler Room to continue to celebration! Over at the boiler room. I saw one of the singer; Patrick, he walked over to say hello to us. My friend told him that it's my birthday! Oh my god! That's it!

I was been called up on stage together with 2 other girls (our birthday falls on the same day) plus the 5 singers! Well, Gino is always the one who keep the whole crowd entertain.. He was busying teasing the 3 of us!

He mentioned that "woo, you have a erected nipple! Look the nipple is so dark"! and to was 'touching' my that ... I was being hug by him and kiss by him on my cheek! What the -_-!!!

After which most of the staffs and manager came to wish and all keep drinking with me... I practically 'ta-ing' with them!

Yes I admit that for that once I am so drunk and high!

I had a wondrous birthday celebration! Thank you for all your wishes and gifts!

Birthday Surprise from Colleagues

Today after I reached office, Shirley Lee asked me if I had sensed something wrong at my seat. My replied to her was there's nothing wrong. She reiterated and asked me to look carefully.

I started opening all my drawer and finally I saw a birthday gift! It stated "Dino, Happy Birthday! With love Pauline".

For that once I called Shirley and she's acting. All she did was keep saying that from Pauline! she remembered your birthday and is so sweet! I was so puzzled. I brought the gift and went to her office. We were there talking and then finally I opened the gift!

Let's guess what is it...

It's a $100 voucher for BB.

I remembered I asked Celine & Shirley on Jan to comment on the BB wallet that I would like to get for myself and so touched that they still remembered till now.

This gift is shared by Fiona, Celine, Wendy Chan, Shirley, Jenny, Yi Ting & Val.

Thank you so much for this surprise!

The science park people (Wendy Chan, Fiona & Yi Ting) supposed to come meet up at Delta and go for lunch together but didn't as Fiona is busy closing a important deal with China. In the end, we (the remaining of us) went to TBP level 2 Jap cafe! Thank you to that 4 sweet ladies that again treat me for the wonderful lunch!

In just a few more hours, I would be turning to 24 years old!

Wisdom Tooth Surgery

I was been referred to Alexandra Hospital from Polyclinic... I went for my appointment - x-ray and consultation... Finally it's fixed! There are a total of 4 wisdom tooth and I would be removing all 4!

The operation is scheduled on 3rd April 2009; 11 am @ Ambulatory Centre (Ward 1, Level 1)

According to the doctor, I would be given general anaesthetic - she mentioned that due to removal of 4 wisdom tooth together it would be better to have general then local

The charges are as follows:

1. Surgery - S$920.00

2. Bed / Day Ward facilities - S$50.00

3. Surgical consumables - S$80.00

4. Anaesthetic consumables - S$100.00

Total cost: S$1150.00

Here are the instructions I am being given:

1. Wear loose fitting clothes and slippers

2. Remove make-up, jewellery or nail polish

3. Allocate some time for your day day surgery stay - 6 hours for general anaesthetic

4. Do not eat or drink (including water) for 8 hours before reporting for surgery

5. Do not wear contact lenses

6. Arrange for someone to accompany you home after the operation. Do not drive.

7. Reschedule your appointment if you have a cold, cough or fever

Before I left the clinic, she say this "Happy Birthday to you in advance!" Ha-ha!

I had also gotten a brochure for Wisdom Tooth Surgery from AH...

About the operation:

The impacted wisdom tooth may be removed either under local anaesthesia, whereby an injection is given in the gums near the operation site to numb the area; or under general anaesthesia in which a state of deep sleep is induced. The choice of anaesthesia will depend on several factors, amongst which are the health of the patient and the level of anticipated surgical complexity.

During the surgery, the gum overlying the tooth is lifted and the bone covering trimmed away with a drill to expose the tooth to facilitate its removal. Upon completion, the gum is sutured back to its original position and a piece of gauze placed over the tooth socket to control the bleeding.

What to expect after the operation and wound care:

A slight oozing of blood from the operation site can be expected in the first 2 to 4 hours after surgery. The mouth should not be constantly or rigorously rinsed during this period as doing so may disturb the wound and encourage further bleeding.

Immediately after the surgery, a swelling will begin to develop in the cheek and lips on the side of the surgery, gradually reaching its maximum size in 3 days. Swelling is the normal body response to surgery, and the degree varies in different people as well as between two sides of a person's jaw. There may also be some bruising or discolouration of the skin over the jaw, first appearing bluish black and turning greenish yellow before fading away in 1 to 2 weeks.

There will be pain, stiffness of the jaws and restriction of full mouth opening for about a week following the surgery. This can be reduced with medication that will be prescribed. Gentle brushing of teeth is encouraged despite the discomfort felt, as oral hygiene is important for good healing. Smoking should be avoided for a couple of days.

A soft diet is advised. It is not uncommon for particles of food to be lodged in the tooth socket. Gentle rinsing after meals will help to clear the debris. At the subsequent appointment for review and removal of stitches, instructions will be given on the technique of wound care.

Possible complications of the surgery:

Wisdom tooth surgery is commonly performed, but as in any surgical procedure, there are risks and complications, which differ in people varying ages, health conditions, bone structures and teeth positions.

- The jaw joint may ache after prolonged opening of the mouth during the surgery. The pain would diminish over time but occasionally medication and physical therapy may be required.

- Infection, sometimes delayed can occur and the symptoms may include fever, re-appearance of a swelling and yellowish pus formation.

- Adjacent teeth, particularly those weakened by decay or large fillings may fracture or the filling dislodge, necessitating additional or re-treatment.

- The roots of the lower wisdom tooth are often situated close to the nerves responsible for providing sensation to the lower lip, chin and tongue. During the process of tooth removal, these nerves may be bruised, resulting in numbness of the lip, chin or tongue. A return to normal sensation will be expected in a few weeks, though occasionally taking up to 3 months. Rarely, permanent numbness can occur if there is nerve damage. The doctor will discuss this possibility with you based on local experience and radiographic findings and advise you accordingly.

Gathering Session 1: Farm Mart

It had been ages since we organizing the gathering session. I remembered clearly that last gathering session was in the year 2008 - @ the riverside restaurant. It’s a promotion treat from MAJ Sima. That’s when she was promoted from a CPT to MAJ.

After work, I went to HQMES @ Ayer Raja Camp to wait for MAJ Sima as she is picking me up. I reached there at 5:15pm and I waited for her outside the camp till 6:45pm. Initially she is supposed to meet me at 5:30pm but due to last minute meeting it drag all the way till then.

At about 6:05pm, 1WO Ang called me saying that a LTC is asking where everyone is. I quickly message MAJ Sima saying that a LTC is looking for us.

Nevertheless, at 6:45pm we left HQMES and head straight to the meeting place – Farm Mart. Unfortunately AYE is heavy traffic all the way to West Coast. MAJ Sima mentioned that no worries, I will fly there.

Yes she really flew there, desperately cutting into all the lanes and driving so wild! Despite of the heavy traffic she managed to cut in here and there and that eventually link to PIE. Having driven past 40th Battalion Singapore Armoured Regiment, it bought back sweet memories to us!

We officially reached Farm Mart at 7:15pm and they (LTC James, 1WO Ang, 2WO Ee & SSG Willie) were there drinking and chatting. Shortly after we met up with them, we went into the wine restaurant for our dinner.

MAJ Sima ordered a sweet red wine and all of us soon ordered our main course. While eating the dinner, every one of them takes turn to share their journey for the past few months. As usual everyone else was talking about the army stuffs (they are all regulars) but nevertheless their journeys are so interesting.

Just a quick sharing: LTC James has been going over for oversea trips as and when, MAJ Sima has been handling all the warrant officers job scope due to the limited vocabulary they had, 1WO Ang moved onto HQ Supply and was selected to do competitive running, 2WO Ee moved to 8 SAB as Service Section been centralized and SSG Willie had redraw his early release…

This time round the treat is from LTC James Teo. Thank you Sir for the dinner! After he left, the 5 of us continued to stay for beer and back to our chatting. Somehow or rather it's quite true without a LTC, conversation seemed to be lightening and dear SSG Willie finally talked... During the dinner session he was so quiet! -_-!!!

After which I took a cab back home and officially reached home at 11:45pm! As per agreed that it would be on a monthly basis meet up for us! I am looking forward to the next session!

Sentosa Day @ Tanjong Beach

The response for today's sentosa is pretty bad - only a few of us; namely Jun Zhang, Angela, Brendon, Milo, David, Gideon and I.

I left home without consuming breakfast as I thought I am running late. But surprisingly I am still the first one to reach there. We are supposed to be meeting at 10am but I reached Habour Front at 9:40am! For the first time, the MRT traffic and queue from Boon Lay is good – not that crowded as often! Nevertheless Jun Zhang and Angela were late! Haha...

While waiting for the tram, I am so surprised to see Gideon message - he asked if I am at Sentosa and at which particular beach. Soon, we joint us at Tanjong Beach...

According to the banner displayed at KM8; Tanjong Beach - they would be closing down on 31st March 2009 as the lease is expired then. In another word, sad to say that there wouldn't be having any court for us to play at Tanjong Beach anymore since initially the court belong to them.

To sum up the morning session till the heavy rain comes, I had had a total of 4 games of 2-on-2, 2 games of 3-on-3 and 2 games of 4-on-4...

As per normal, my favourite is still the 2-on-2...

1st – Angela & Me Vs 2 outsiders (we lost ~ 19 Vs 21) I simply know that the ball would land there but I just don’t seemed to move my leg to volley it... Damn Dino!

2nd – Brendon & I Vs Jun Zhang & Angela (we lost ~ 18 Vs 21) It been so long since I last paired up with Brendon.

3rd - Gideon & I Vs Brendon & David (21 Vs 9)

4th – Gideon & I Vs Angela & Jun Zhang ( 21 Vs 10)

Gideon had taught me some tips – I think it will only apply to him when I paired up with him next time. For the information, Gideon is a indoor formation player for SA during his NS day.

The Sentosa I had yesterday wasn’t my usual – I don’t know why I just simply not at my peak!

CLC 2nd Teambuilding

Practically today, it wasn’t a working day for most of CLC personnel. It’s a PSB Academy Communication ~ both Corporate Learning and Consulting section and Education section.

As a staff of PSB Academy, I started my day attending session which starts from 9:00am till 12:00pm; followed by my CLC 2nd Communication Package by SVP, Mr Ng till about 1:00pm and after which I went for my Strategic Business Development with AVP, Charlene.

New direction and insight has been revealed through these sessions. Finally I can totally agreed that this is really a bad economy year ~ special for Corporate Learning and Consulting!

After lunch, I hopped onto Celine's car and we headed to Bukit Timah Nature Reserve!

After taking a slow stroll, we managed to reach the top of the summit!

As the time is still early, Mr Ng suggested that see the water fall and he led the whole group to the waterfall site. It's another long walking but I didn't go as Elaine got her muscle pull during the walking down of the slope. I practically accompanied her while waiting for the group of people to come back.

Verdict is OUT

Since last Thursday I have been feeling the pain at my right side end of the gum. But I only came to find out on Friday night that it might be growth of wisdom tooth.

I am so stupid! If early that week then I can save up money as PSB Academy last week had a Q and M Dental Portable station. It's free dental check-up and consultation for all PSB Students and Staffs.

But sad to say I missed it!

Today I went to see dental clinic at Boon Lay (Jurong Point) because I cannot tahan the pain already. My purpose of going to see the dentist is to find out whether is it wisdom tooth or just heaty.

I reached the Dental Clinic at 10:30am and after making the earliest appointment; which is 12:30pm, I walked around the whole JP (new and old) but surprisingly most shops are still closed.

Finally when the clock strike at 12:30pm, I went inside the dental clinic and there the verdict is OUT!

Verdict - Yes, I am have 2 wisdom tooth (both located at the right side - upper and lower) The lower wisdom tooth is the one causing the swelling and pain.

After which the dentist did the followings:

1. Chlorohexdine Mouthwash - S$10.00

2. Medications - S$40.00

3. Irrigation - S$45.00

4. Root Planning (Gum Treatment) - S$85.00

This dental visit cost me a total of S$185.00. I cannot claim back as it is not being covered under my employment! Damn! I am now that amount poorer!

Look at so many medication I need to consume! :-(

I am going to remove my wisdom tooth - probably at AH or any other govt hospitals - at least I can directly use my medic save to pay; not a single cents needed!

But when should I go removed it! Sigh!!!

Here are the research I did for Wisdom Tooth...

What are wisdom teeth?

They are the third permanent molars and are the last teeth to develop. They erupt or come up into the mouth in our late teens or early twenties. We can have up to four wisdom teeth, two in the upper jaw and two in the lower.

Why should they be removed:

For those of us whose jaws are too small to accommodate these wisdom teeth, problems may arise:

1. Often. the lower wisdom tooth may be prevented from erupting when it is 'blocked' by the tooth in front. In such a case, the tooth is called am impacted wisdom tooth. Such a tooth sometimes gives an unpleasant sensation of pressure at the back of the jaw (that's what I am experiencing now)

2. The gum around the impacted wisdom tooth may trap food debris which can cause infection of the time gums. The infection would be felt as a swelling and pain of the gum.

3. Further discomfort may be caused if the upper wisdom tooth bites down on the swollen gum below.

4. Tooth decay may develop on the wisdom tooth and the back surface of the tooth in front of it. The decay can often go undetected and may only be discovered when there is a toothache. In severe cases, both teeth may need to be removed.

What can be done about an infected wisdom tooth?

- Your dentist may clean the infected area and apply some local antiseptic agent if necessary.

- Antibiotics and painkillers may be prescribed to reduce the infection.

- If the upper wisdom tooth is biting on the swollen gum, the tooth may be trimmed out of the way. If it is judged that the upper wisdom tooth is not functional, then, in the long run it would be better to extract the tooth.

- At a later visit, when the infection is under control, the lower wisdom tooth can be removed. Very often, before the removal, an X-ray would be taken to assess the position and shape of the tooth.

How is the wisdom tooth removed?

The wisdom tooth is removed by your dentist in an operation done under local anaesthesia. The anaesthesia will prevent any feeling of pain during the operation though there may be some sensation of pressure while the dentist is working on the tooth.

During the operation, the gum around the tooth is moved to one side and some bone around the tooth is removed. Often, the tooth may need to be divided into pieces before it can be removed. The gum is then stitched back into place.

After the operation, when the anaesthetic has worn off, you may need to take painkillers. Antibiotics may also be given to prevent infection of the wound. There is usually some swelling of the cheek which may last about 5 days. The swelling may also cause some stiffness of the jaw.

Your dentist will check on your condition about 5 days later. At this time, the stitches will be removed.

2nd AHM Training

Today is the 2nd Army Half Marathon (AHM) training with 2 PDF at Seletar Camp (School of Combat Engineers) I wake up at 5:45 am and I started preparing myself for the training later. It's a pretty long journey to Seletar Camp and it's so funny - the RP who is doing the duty...

He refused to let those all in 2 PFD to enter despite of approval given from their RSM... Thankfully the OIC is smart enough to inform the RP that if he refused, he will called his RSM... Eventually he opens the gate and allowed all to enter!

Well, it's alway happen in the military! The information are all not communicated properly and eventually the people on the ground would be the one addressing to it.

At about 7:30 am plus, a conducting brief was given, soon the route was being disclosed (10km) running in semi forest (training ground) *2 loops and back to where we start! The whole course is so interesting for me - maybe because I ORD for so long and suddenly back to army unit training ground, it gives me a good feeling.

Running on the training ground meaning that is open area with only trees and nothing else! The whole course is without shelter - the sun is so scouring hot! I just simply love the course - I am endured HOT not cold but the course is governed with uphill and downhill ~ my favourite!

I eventually finished at 44 minutes! Is a 2 minutes improvement as compared to the first 10k run at ECP! Nevertheless, I still haven't break my personal best - 42 minutes!

There was this Captain who approached me saying for my particulars, my reservist (i told him I haven't got it), my appointment, my unit... He then instructed one guy (don't know what is his name) to take from my NIRC number! Haha...

I am looking forward in the others training session so that I would be able to BREAK MY PERSONAL BEST!

Sentosa Day @ Tanjong Beach

This is e most memorable and interesting Saturday Sentosa that I ever had - this is the first time that we played till SUN set! Most importantly we are not demoralized by the 45 minutes to 1 hour passing rain. In past whenever it started to rain, we will just pack up and go but surprisingly we stayed!

Hmm... It started to rain at about 2 plus and we hid inside the shelter till the rain totally stop - in the process of waiting, we built sandcastle; to prevent water from flowing into the shelter! But interesting is when the rain get smaller, we just step out and wanting to continue our match in court; then it started raining heavily again!

I had a good time at Sentosa! Initially I told myself that I am only going to play only 5 matches and nothing more than that because on Sunday I am having AHM training with 2 PFD. If I really played till I shag out then I have problem with their running training.

However, my 5 matches become endless and shag out!

Nevertheless I had my fair share of play in matches - 2-on-2 & 4-on-4!

But practically I still preferred the 2-on-2 - my partner is Augustine! We WON ALL the matches :-) The most interesting match is the last 2 matches - 2-on-2

1st Match - Angela & Jie Yu Vs Augustine & Me (We won)

2nd Match - Walter & Jun Zhang Vs Augustine & Me (We won)

Thanks to Augustine who is so seasoned player till he know where the opponent going to spike the volley - that's why I am able to volley their spike as all their spike come to my direction! I somehow wish that I can have half of his judgment as least I would know where to get ready when my opponent going to spike.

When the sun officially set, we headed off for a bath before going for our dinner! We are all so shag and hungry! We waited for the express tram for so long but there's no seats available and in the end we walked all the way from Tanjong Beach to Palawan Beach (yellow line) heading toward the Beach Station.

It's such a long walk especially when all of us are TIRED and SUPER HUNGRY!

Sentosa - Valentine's Day

This year I spent my Valentine's Day as Sentosa with my group of volleyballers - Angela, Jie Yu, James, Augustine, Brendon, Kah Beng, April and Milo!

We all gathered at Tanjong Beach - surprisingly the court is occupied by 3 ang moh who are currently chasing a group of newbie... While others are still applying sun block, James and I started our quick warm up by the side of the court...

James is one of my BEST 2 on 2 volleyball partner... However due to work for the past 2 months he can not make it for the usual saturday sentosa. Nevertheless, today he finally able to make it - although is a good play for us as he haven't been touching VB for months!

After which we proceeded to the game of 3 on 3 and 2 on 2!!! As compared to last week, my serving improved - out of 10 balls, 8 goes over however my volleying seemed out of place today!

The last match both James and I had was to against a very tall and professional spiker - ang moh and a lady... We lost because partly we choose the wrong location - the side we standing keep facing the sun and can't see the ball clearly which eventually lead me to bleeding on my left knee while trying to get the second ball after James got the first ball!

The sun blinded our eyes for almost every ball! And all the first balls seemed to be going to his and I was ....

I had learnt a good way to spike the body - it involve totally stretch and bending of your back.. The spike is good but eventually you will feel the ache just like what I am feeling now!

Last Friday (6th Feb 2009) after work, we (Chong Beng, Charlene, Val, Wendy, Yi Ting, Jenny, YC, Ma'am Kwek, Amanda, Evelyn & I) went over to Shirley Lee's house for a celebration!

When the clock hit 5.30pm, my office people (Charlene, Val and I) went opposite coffeeshop and waited for Soo Beng. He is driving us there while those at Blk A take MRT... The group is too big and not enough cars!

It's was raining heavy and heavy traffic at bukit timah road - as Charlene suggest to buy Yu Sheng... I thinked it took us 45 minutes or so before reaching her house... But still again we are the first to reach!

Shortly after we reached, the other 2 groups came and we started dinner - steamboat! It's been ages since I last ate steamboat! After which we proceed to playing poker - a new game that Shirley implemented!

We played till 10:15pm and officially left then.. Thank you Mr Soo who drove me and Evelyn till Jurong East MRT... I officially reach home at 11 plus!

Yesterday I wake up early in the morning and headed down to ECP with my friends as they are having AHM training. I am initially scared as according to my friend that their team runners are clocking below 1 hour 30 minutes. But someone or rather my personal best is only 1 hour 45 minutes.

Yesterday was the first training session - 10km run and I came in 5th overall (there are more than 5 runners!) with a timing of 46 minutes.

I hope that by attending their regular Sunday training I would be able to hit that timing and get in as their team! After getting into their team, life would be different then!

At the evening - 9:40pm, I catch the show - The Curious Case of Benjamin Button with my friends at Vivo City...

After a enjoyable short night at home, I wake up today at 7.20am and started preparing to go work... Just before I left home, I went to my mummy's room - I am surprised to see that my nephew is down with fever! Strangely enough, yesterday night he was still active and alright but today ....

PSB Academy GYM

After such a long wait from the year 2008 till now, Celine finally agreed to go for a GYM Session with me. So yesterday marks the important milestone from Celine - she's finally heading toward the GYM; stepping out of his comfort zone!

We went to the GYM at level 3 after work and did for a short session (20 minutes) as this is the first time Celine going to GYM so can not do too much if not later her muscle would be aching.

Celine basically did a 10 minutes run on the treadmill (with a speed of 6.5) and after which hit straight to stationary bicycle machine to do strenghten...

She's so excited on running on the treadmill..

After having waiting for days I had finally gotten my permanent access card today from the Facilities department.

I remembered after lunch, I email the person in-charge asking when can we collect our access card. Suddenly he replied saying that I can go down and collect it from him now.

I went down to immediately to collect it... and I headed down to Popular to apply the card - it's free for PSB Staff!

First Day of Chinese New Year

Today is first day of Chinese New Year!

I headed home at 9:30am and reached back home by 10:15am. The journey for bus to MRT and to bus again! The journey of MRT so packed with the black!

Before heading home, I went to 7-11 as mummy asked me to buy 2 packets of ICE for granny. Shortly after I reached home, I with my mummy 'pa nian' and elder sis, we took a cab to granny's house...

On Friday I had gotten the phone I wanted. It's been such a big went through to get the phone I want. Been going to Bugis and TYP shops hunting and with lot of phone call; I finally gotten it at Boon Lay.

After using for the Nokia E71 for quite sometime, I noticed that I can not survive without a touch screen phone.

I went out to Town to watch this show - Changeling after gotten the phone set with them. It's a long movie - a very touching show ~ showing how great is a mother's love to their own child!

I headed down to Sentosa as per normal on all the saturday together with our new member and a soon to e professional player - Isaac Ang.

Met up with Jun Zhang, Angela, Jie Yu, Walter, Augustine, Lesle and Brendon at the same old usual place - Tanjong Beach!

Shortly after we arrived, we started a 3 on 3 matches – Team 1 (Angela, Jun Zhang & Me) Vs Team 2 (Augustine, Walter, Jie Yu) ... It was an interesting match and till now I can not remembered who won eventually – if I am not wrong I think is Team 2 who won the set! :-)

After the match ended, we moved on to 2 on 2 – Isaac & Me Vs Augustine & Brendon (Game set at 15 points). Unfortunately we lost! It then moved on the next pair – Jie Yu & Walter (they lost too). The winning team had decided to take a short break and thus Jun Zhang & Angela headed inside to challenge Jie Yu and Walter... Soon, the winner taken their position into the court; faced against Walter and Jie Yu; managed to won them; the winning team is Brendon and Augustine. Then suddenly Isaac and I again went into the court to challenge them.

This time round, luck was at our side. We played hard and I suffer hard as well – I remembered Isaac’s ball causing me to dive on the sand but instead of saving the ball, I missed it + gotten my stomach banged onto the sand... It’s so painfully! It was a good team work displayed for me and Isaac during the game and eventually WE WON (21 Vs 13). Yes we finally made it...

Soon, an outside approached us to play a 6 on 6 – I was like what the heck! I just don’t like playing 6 on 6 because it’s so crowded and I won’t be able to touch the ball that often. The 6 players for the first set are as follow – Me, Augustine, Jun Zhang, Angela, Jie Yu & Isaac.

As commented by Isaac, that the guy in singlet serving is so hard – his ball had actually hit his face! But I had help him to take revenge. Haha... It seemed so bad but who care! My serve to them was hard too and it also hit a few of their players!

The second set player – me, Isaac, Jun Zhang, Lesle, Brendon and Walter – This time round I think better team work and we won!

The last match I had was a 2 on 2 (me and Jun Zhang Vs Walter & Augustine) but I don’t know why we lost (21 Vs 16) ... Some how or rather there’s isn’t any partnership with Jun Zhang. I guessed it been a long time since I paired up with him. Nevertheless it’s doesn’t mean that we will always lost to them!

Isaac and I left early and we went to Vivo City to catch a movie. Initially we are supposed to attend a wedding dinner but we forgo it as it's a buffet style wedding dinner and it seemed a bit far and rush for us!

Yesterday after work I headed home to settle some personal issue and after which I met up with Isaac and we headed to Zouk - Phuture and Mambo Night with his friends ~ practically a group of 2LTs and few specialists (they are all still in service) except the only civilian and that's ME!

We reached at 10:30pm and waiting for others of his friends to come before we make our way into the party!

After a quick introduction of his camp mates, we started drinking and dancing... They are really a bunch of youngster - who keep 'ta' drink... I thought only the older people will do the 'ta' but surprisingly they does that as well...

One of his friend, Mal suggested to play 7-up (it's a number game); so long the number is multiple of 7 or contain 7 you are not allow to say it out... Nevertheless, the number never ever moved out of 20!

The combatants are too slow in reaction (tested and proven) and that includes Isaac too.. Haha...

In the end almost everyone keep drinking except for me! Just for those who don't know me, I am good at number! Actually there's a formula in getting the correct answer - can't reveal my secret!

After which we all headed to the dance floor - but I am the most lousiest because half of the song I don't know. I have to admit that I am old -_-!!! What to do...

It's the S Day again! Yes, we are going to Sentosa for our usual volleyball session with the same group - Jun Zhang, Angela, Walter, Jie Yu, Walter, Kah Beng & Brendon.

Augustine can not make it as he is going to genting and James asked me to give him morning call didn't turn up. He was sleeping all the way - He went clubbing the day for therefore he can't wake up...

This trip is wonderful as we have a new member on-board! He's none other than Isaac Ang.

Met up with Isaac for breakfast at my house area before we went to Vivo City - tram to Tanjong Beach - KM8.

I went on the explained the BEACH Volleyball rules to him... Next I moved on to sharing with him about serving using upper hand and lower hand, timing for spiking and of course the most important - volleying the first day. The only thing that I didn't really go in-depth is the setting as my setting skill is not professional enough. I am just afraid that he will learn the wrong thing so I reserved it.

But I am not sure how come during 2 on 2 I am able to set is at 80% standard of professionalism.

For those who don't know the beach volleyball rule - I shall share it here with you...

1st - You can not set the first ball (this is important because as compared to indoor; you are able to set the first ball.

Soon the others came and after a quick warm up we proceed to the game ... The first match I have is a 2 on 2 - Isaac and Me Vs Angela and Jun Zhang.

It's a wonderful experience for Isaac I hope - this is the first time he is exposed to the 2 on 2 ... Although the score was a pathetic one but that experience definitely enriched Isaac ~ at least he know the strategies and the attack style.

It's a miss! Both of them keep serving the ball to Isaac because it's just the mentally of the player - during match, they tends to serve to those who is not well versa; reason being if they do so it's already a 90% scoring.

What a UNGLAM position Isaac!

We LOST eventually but is a definitely a good experience and exposure! Next Jie Yu & Walter took over our place and had a fight with the winner. Sad to say they also lost... I then moved on to pair up with Brendon to against the winner. Yes and we make it!!!

It's an interesting game that we keep deducing for 3 times before we won the game!

I saw my other sentosa group of friends - Johnson Gan and his group. He went approached me asking for a 2 on 2 ...

I invited Walter to pair up with me - but before Walter agreed he asked if they are professional. I told him they are okay. I remembered in the past, I lost to them.

Headed to the court and start our 2 on 2 with all others sitting at the side looking at us. It seemed like a competition.

I kick start the first serve and YES I made it! I consecutively score a total of 7 points before they had their chance to serve their first and eventually they didn't sustained. The game was set to the point of 25 and after an intense match; here the score 25 Vs 6...

I am so glad to see that my skill improved (maybe is just because I am lucky)

After which again moved on to 2 on 2 - pairing up with Jun Zhang to against Brendon and Walter - WE WON; and it's good partnership! After which moving on to Angela and Jie Yu; yet another intense and interesting match - we WON again!

The last game of the match is again back with Isaac against Kah Beng & Jun Zhang... A interesting match - with the same outcome as compared to the first match of the day I had.

New Table Layout

Today I was so busy in the morning; a lot of paperwork to do and yet the space of my table is so many. I keep knocking against my CPU. What a day!

I decided to stop doing all my work and I re-arrange my work desk. Now at least it look much more spacious!

New Arrangement

FYI, the old arrangement was in such a way that the drawer is located on the right and the CPU is beside the monitor on the table. Now roughly can you imagine how restricted I was.

I still missed those days when I was in Science Park - the office and seating arrangement are much more BIGGER as compared to the current one I have right now!

First Entry in the Year 2009

A year had passed, bye 2008 and hello 2009.

This entry marks the first post in this OX year 2009! It's after all my year - I am born in that year.

I did what my boss (Mr Ng) mentioned to us during the last Christmas Eve Celebration at Science Park - The Franklin. I still can recalled that he said according to the Mexicans that the year would be a bad year and in order to prevent yourself from getting into worst, before making the new year resolution, wear a yellow underwear.

I went home and to my surprise I actually had a yellow underwear! I wore it on the day itself as I told myself that there's no harm giving it a try.

I am really so glad that it works for me - I am advancing to my future target! And I hope it would be long and forever!

After a half day work, I headed back home as I have no plan for the day - soon I gotten a called from my friends; asking me to join them for countdown at The Berllini. After consideration, I argeed to join them - if I don't joined them I guessed I would be at home rotting and doing nothing.

Met up with my friends at 10pm at The Berllini and was there drinking, dancing and counting down.

The Berllini was a wondering place for the countdown - they started the counting down for Tokyo as they are 1 hour ahead of Singapore.

10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 - Happy 2009 Singapore!

Last Saturday - 3rd Jan 2009 as per normal headed down to Sentosa; Tanjong Beach. The turnout is good with Angela, Jie Yu, Walter, Jun Zhang, Andre, Kah Beng, Milo, Brendon & Augustine

Talking about the matches, I only played a total of 4 matches of 2 on 2 (paired up with Angela) – won 3 and lost 1 ... Plus a few of 4 on 4 matches – results were pretty neutral!

I left Sentosa and headed to meet my friends are we are watching movie at MS - 4.20pm show!

CLC Team-building - SAFRA MF Super Bowl

Today is the last team-building for CLC. Billy from PSB Technologies was assigned to plan this team-building and I was tasked to assist Billy with the planning.

Emails were sent out asking for attendance and soon 4 lanes had been reserved for us on 30th Dec 2008 from 1500 hours onwards.

A total of 27 CLC personnel went for this teambuilding - Lee Tak, Wendy, Chong Beng, Pauline, Alvin Tay, Alvin Pang, Alan, Sruti, Sam, Anu, Calvin, Chiew, Shirley Lee, Wendy Chan, Fiona, Celine, Jenny, Yi Ting, Amanda, Evelyn, Shirley Low, Yuet Chun, Val, Vivi, Billy, Ah Nam & Me

We all left office at 2:45pm and headed down to SAFRA Mount Faber - Super Bowl Level 2. In a short while, teams were being informed and all of us went to our respective lanes.

My team (Team 1) comprises of Lee Tak, Sam, Celine, Val, Amanda and Myself.

All of us played a total of 2 matches.

Summary of results:

1st Match - My team is 2nd position; with a total score of 505.

2nd Match - My team is the champion; with a total score of 706.

The 2nd match is the best match that my team displayed. Also the 2nd match is one of the best ever score (195) I obtained for the whole my my life. I can't imagine that I am able to do it! But I really made it!!!

I woke up today at 9:00am... Some how or rather my arm, leg and specially my back are still so aching. I think yesterday sentosa really put in my 100% effort in all the matches... Super aching till I don't feel like doing anything...

But then .....

I still went market to have breakfast with my mother and went back home to rest for a while. I check the oven that I have - I am so disappointed as it is a microwave oven not electrical oven. It means that I can not bake cookies for that someone I promise. Well, I am always the one doing the impossible, so this time round it's not surprise too...

I told my mother that we go vivo city shopping - as I wanted to buy a oven so that I can make the cookies for that someone special!

We left home at about 11:30am and headed down to Vivo City... I brought my mum to Daiso, BEST, Gaint, Cold Storage, Pet Shop and also a few shops...

We spent a total of 3 hours there and we officially load up to cab at 2:30pm... I am so surprised that I spent a total of $101 on the stuffs - electrical oven, ingredients for baking of cookies, a shelf for my own room.

Such small amount of stuffs cost me $101...

After spending 1 hour to DIY the shelf - I don't have an electric driller therefore every part is screwed using hand force! -_-!!!

S-Day + Reunion Dinner

It's S day again! Met up with James, Walter, Angela, Jun Zhang, Augustine & John today at Tanjong beach for our usual sentosa trip.

This time round, there wasn't anyone eyeing on the KM8 Volleyball court except us! We started off with a 4 on 4 against others and we won the game - so that means the court belong to us! Soon we proceed to a 2 on 2 - Me & Walter Vs James & Augustine... My team won the game and we proceed to against with Jun Zhang & Angela... We lost ... Don't know why - maybe we are too tired or maybe we giving them chance. haha..

The weather is so so good today!

Rest and continued to play and play even harder! I am so so tanned now!!!

Remembered in my previous blog, I mentioned about 2 cute small dog - yes they are here again today. I managed to ask James to take a photo with me and Trouble + John by the side.

Among all matches played, the best game of the day is the last 3 matches...

1st Match - Me and Augustine Vs James and an outsider - We won... It's been so long that I last paired up with Augustine in the 2 on 2... Good game bro!

2nd Match - Me and James Vs Angela & Jun Zhang... It's a hard game and we initially losing but managed to catch up and we won the game! It's so cool and interesting...

3rd Match - Me & James Vs 2 Ang Mo ... The game set would be point of 15... It's really a hard game to play... They will leading and soon we keep deduce for 5 times but the winners was declared!

Today is Christmas Eve yet I had no plan at all - no one date me out and I guessed I shall stay at home! Sincerely looking forward to go out with that 'someone' but ....

Today headed down to Science Park, The Franklin our hq for PSB Academy - CLC Division. We are having a christmas celebration from 10:30 till 13:00. Each of us contributed a present worth S$10 and bring a pot luck there.

It's so great to see my old colleague at Science Park. I was previously located at Science Park but I shifted to Delta Campus on 9th December 2008. On top of the foods and present (decided by lucky draw) I do had gotten a few prizes from my colleague; mainly Celine, Fiona, Shirley, Yi Ting, Jenny & Val.

"Knee can I begged you to cooperate with me?" Can you both kindly don't make me so demoralizing and terrible...

I just want to keep running ... It's my passion and it's my life too!

I have 6 more standard chartered singapore marathon to go and more of others races (sundown, phuket international marathon, etc)

I had a moderate long run just now. I started running at 6:30pm and I reached back home at 7:35pm. According to my Polar RS200SD, the total distance that I covered is 12.48km.

Route I took:

My house (Blk 28 Jalan Bukit Merah -> Queensway Shopping Centre -> AIA Building -> Hot Park -> River Valley Secondary School (Opposite PSA Building) -> Telok Blangah Height -> Habour Front -> Kampong Bahur -> SGH -> Chinatown Pearl Centre -> People's Park Complex -> OG -> Havelock Road -> Tiong Bahru Plaza -> Henderson Road -> Bukit Merah Central -> home!

I feel so useless when I hit River Valley, knee start giving way - the more I keep running, the more I can hear the rubbing sound. I forgotten to bring my deep heat out and I forced myself to continue running - I didn't bring any cards or cash; the only thing was with me is my iPod Nano... I bear with the pain and thankfully with the songs at my iPod it kind of help me to press on.

It's such a lousy timing!

I remembered in the past few year back, I can simply run all these without any difficulties but now... I headed down to consult doctor on my knee on 16th December 2008. After a minor test conducted by the doctor on my both knee ~ here are the outcome.

Doctor: "Both of my side of the knee cartilage are totally wear and tear. Usually when people do running, the knee moved up and down but mine is moving left and right." (see below)

Me: "I know I had injured my knee during my secondary x-country race and at that time I didn't bother to take good care. Now it is getting worst."

Doctor: "Wear a knee guard during training and if ever going for race use it as it helps to tighten and prevent too much further damage."

Me: "It look like cockster when wearing knee guard, any others ways"

Doctor: "smile! He give me the cream (Bio-Glucosamine + MSM cream) to apply. It take 6 months to feel the effect."

Me: "6 months to feel the effect. But I am having my ultra marathon (84km) in just a few more months time"

Doctor: "kinda of give up and only smile."

I wish I can turn back to my secondary life that after I injured myself I quickly go seek treatment.

I know if it totally wear off, I need to go for a surgery to replace the cartilage but would I still be able to run then? :-(

Sentosa - Tanjong Beach

I head down to Sentosa this morning at 10.00 am. After all I have not been going to Sentosa for the past 2 weeks.

Met up with Angela, Jun Zhang, Kah Beng, Walter @ Vivo Level 3 and again met up with Augustine and Brendon inside.

This time round instead of going back to Siloso ~ our usual volleyball area, we headed to Tanjong Beach.

Reason being:

1. Zouk out on 13th December - the area is still polluted (heard from Angela saying still can smell people's vomiting)

2. There are no courts set up because 31 Dec is Siloso Party.

At the beginning when we started to play I was like noob - so fuck up in everything ~ spiking, serving, volleying..... We went into the court and play - I was so screwed up...

Soon I get back my usual - we moved on the 2 rounds of 2 and 2 .... Angela & Me Vs Jun Zhang & Walter - we WON! Later pair up in this sequence - Jun Zhang & Me Vs Walter & Angela - we lost by 2 points. I had my fair share of fun today - the weather is so good!

We get to know this lady who seemed to be rich tai tai type... She brings along her 2 cute dogs (1 female and 1 male). I keep playing with them. It's so cute!!!

Left at 5 pm for a shower and had our dinner at Kofu @ Palawan Beach (Islander Card got 10% discount - the portion of the food is so little). Took the express train back to vivo and head to swensen for ice-cream indulge + chat... Stay there till 8:50pm before we departed... I headed shopping at one particular outlet to buy something for 'someone'

I was on MC for 2 days - 16th to 17th December 2008 - I was down with serious throat infection and unstable fever (on and off).

Initially after my tonsils operation in december 2006, I haven't gotten any infection but then the removal doesn't really work as it is. I remembered the specialist told me that after the operation I will not have infection again more but then....

Someone whom wanted a pair of adidas GYM Glove for such long time can't get it because all outlets in adidas ran out of stock. Initially I don't believed that no adidas outlet has it. I gave it a try by calling all adidas outlets and HQ at Jln Bukit Merah but to my surprise, they don't have it...

I never gave up and I pressed on - after searching for hours online I finally found one shop (Liang Seng) that has it. I quickly ordered and make a trip down to collect it. Met up with that person and surprise 'someone' with that. Only the branch at Upper Serangoon Road has the size that I am looking for!!!

Delta Campus

Yesterday we had shifted to the new campus @ Delta - PSB Academy. Slack the whole morning till noon time where our stuffs from Science Park is delivered to us. Spend the rest of the day cleaning and setting up.

I am located at level 5 - all of them call it the Penhouse; reason being is the highest building and the lift only stop at level 4. One is expected to climb up the stair to reach level 5.

Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2008

7th December 2008 marks the day for all runners - It's the Standard Chartered Singapore Marathon 2008.

Headed down to Yi Hong's house on 6th December 2008 as I am hopping a free ride from you to the race area.

This is the route of the year.

Before the race, I met up with Alex Liew and his cousin. He is supposed to run with him but in the end he ran with his cousin and that I ran with Alex Lim (a camp mate of mine) but he lost slight of me at the 4km bench mark.

And that make me running alone!

The most funniest is the race flagged out while we (2 Alex / Liew's cousin and I) were still happily chatting at the Esplanade. We cross the starting line about 10 to 15 minutes (app.) after the race flat off.

I personally find it demoralizing because we are running the whole stretch of ECP (from Fort Road till the end of the ECP and back to Fort Road) as this year they changed of route - no more marine south due to the fact of the IR.

Been keep using deep heat along the course to curb my knee pain - terrible experience.

I got tight muscle cramp officially at 41km bench mark, thankfully I saw my SAFRA Runner whom was a pacer there. He passed me his deep heat as I finished using mine! I keep pushing and pressing myself - ended the race strong!

Eventually I crossed the finishing line with a net timing of 5 hours 11 mins. If minus off my start off timing, I had successfully completed the race with a chip timing of 4 hours plus. I will stay tuned in the SCM website in the next couple of day to see my finalized chip timing.

I waited for 2 hours for the rest of them to come back - Choo Yong Meng, Dequan, Yi Hong, Nelson, Alex & Wei Jun. All of them finished their first ever marathon at 6 hours and above!

Good job guyz!

I headed down to Bukit Merah Central during lunch time to collect my second part of the prize that I won during the adidas inspirator 2008!

Condition: I am supposed to wear my running top and btm giving during the race day!

Another time spending my lunch time going to settle my personal stuff! Didn't eat my lunch again!

Headed back to office and I tried on the singlet... It's a bit fitting - I took a 'S' Size!

Returned back to work today! It's such as long boring morning; having so much email to clear and reply.

Just wrote another proposal and send it to client - SSCM Pte Ltd. Just pray hard he accept the proposal!

After lunch I headed down to Delta Campus (PSB Academy) at 2:30pm for a meeting together with CLC (Corporate Learning & Consultancy Division). A lot of things were being discussed.

According to what was discussed earlier on, my appointment would be changed to Executive, Strategic Business Development as compared to my current one, Business Development Executive. This is only tentatively and there's might be changes as well.

The meeting last till 5pm!

Headed up to my new office together with Mr Ng (SVP) and Wendy (Assistant Manager Admin)... My new office is so small!!! The table is half of what I am now. Enough of such thing. Shall wait till the date then! Sigh...

30 min just before I off work, my working shoe gave way (look at the picture). Thank god that I bought along the shoe I collected yesterday as my colleague would like to see how does it look like. I changed to that racer and went home.

Everyone was looking at me... Imagine I am wearing my executive wear + bright yellow racer!

The heel came out!

This weekend I am going to buy a new shoe as I need one... :-(

Remembered I mentioned in one of my entries about winning the Adidas Inspirator 2008. It's an online contest organized by Adidas.

Friday (14th November 2008), I am tasked to set up a christmas tree at my office ... I spent a total of 2 hours to set up and to decorate it! It's tiring but the outcome is such rewarding!

I still remembered those were the days that we (the logistic-ians) toiled hard to clear all shit! I missed those days!!!

This time round, I admit that I am really drunk! I left at 10 plus and took a cab back home as I need to go for Sentosa today! I vomited inside my crumpler bag - yucks.. But I had totally washed it ... So no more smell already..

Headed down to Sentosa as per normal, the weather wasn't that good - the sun came out at 1 plus and for only like 30 to 45 minutes.. It wasn't a day for me ... I played so so many matches in courts - 6 matches; won NONE of them. Out of the 6 matches, the one I like the most is the 2 on 2 - I paired up with James (21 Vs 18) ... Left at 3:40pm as it started raining...

Went to Vivo makan a bit with them (James & Brendon) + did some window shopping ... I left at 5:10pm to my granny's house as we (Granny, Mummy, 2nd Sis, Brother In-law + my nephew) going to Jap Buffet...

On top of the hill - It took us about 25 minutes to walk up!

Last Saturday I forgo my Sentosa trip and I went to Habour Front with mum; bringing my nephew (4 months old) for his swimming packages...

Initially I thought that the baby would be swimming in some big pool but in the end I am wrong. It’s just a small confined tube and the baby would be wearing a float and there he’s goes into the tube.

Without any thinking, my nephew keep kicking here and there... Now a day kids are so so fortunate! I don’t even recall that I have such in the past!

Today so glad to see Celine back in the office. Days without her in office, it seemed so quiet! She’s back from her holiday at Oh Chim Min City with her husband! They went to visit war places – rat hole and more... It seemed so interested!

I remembered I went there 4 years ago I was so good luck as compare to her – visiting all those interesting place.She gotten me a namecard holder made by the Vietnamese.

Nicholas Sim Bday Celebration

Today after my department team building - trekking at Bukit Timah, I hopped on to Alan's car and headed towards to Jurong Point.

I am supposed to meet my BMTC PC - LTA (NS) Nicholas Sim as we are going to celebration his 24th B'day. You are old!

I arrived at Jurong Point at 5:15pm and basically I waited 1 hour 25 min before he arrived. He was still having lesson when I arrived at JP. What I did was basically walking the whole JP ... Well, I gotten 2 pens and 1 christmas gift for my nephew. Meeting my nephew tomorrow at Habour Front.. It's been so long since I last saw him!

Had the celebration at Billy Bombers where we ordered a lot of foods till we can't finish... I think the celebration would be one of his most memorable one.. Feeding the bday 'uncle' with so much of protein...
