Nike+ Human Race

31st August 2008 is the day where most countries held the first ever Nike+ Human Race. Surprisingly that I would go for such short distance. Well, I didn't register it was Andre and I am just helping him to run - he have ATP to handle in camp.

I met up with Yi Hong at Cityhall Breadtalk at 1445 hours and we slowly stroll to the Padang for bag check-in.

This is the first time I participate in race that starts in the afternoon - 1615 hours.

Yi Hong supposed to run with me for the whole course as he intends to clock his first ever race below 55 minutes. He completed in 60 plus minutes!

However, he lost track of me at 2km bench mark. The route are so narrow yet occupied with RUNNERS... Thanks to my experiences in racing, I managed to cut and cut till I zoomed off...

Personally, I think the race is not as lively as it claim! No doubt that the route is new but throughout the whole course only 3 bands ... I was expecting more but ....

I competed the race with the blue tag limit (below 65 minutes; red tag is 50 minutes and below). According to my polar watch, I completed 50 min 34 seconds. Lousy timing!

Think I starting to believe that when one grow older, stamina tends to decrease. My 10k timing drop so pathetic. I had attached my 10k timing for SCM 2003.

Saw Justin after I finished collecting my bag and trying to locate where is Yi Hong at the main cross over junction.

S Day

Met up with Angela, Jun Zhang, Andre, Walter, Jie Yu & Brendon at Sentosa Siloso Beach... Today's a couple of interesting and wonderful things ongoing there.... Rip Curl Volleyball Competition and most importantly is the weather - SUPER HOT!

This time round, the rip curl volleyball seemed to be a big time events - they occupied half the land of Siloso with a total of 25 volleyball courts (if i am not wrong)

Initially we thought that there would not be any courts left for us to play however I saw my friend - he set up his own court and we joined in and keep playing!

After we won them in 1st match, we have the court all by ourself...

Thanks god with our great communication and team work, we continued playing after we won the 1st match (5 on 5) all the way till 5th match (we lost.... 25 Vs 23) It started raining and we left with no choice but to go bath!

I saw my RP Volleyballers - they took part in the rip curl! But it wasn't positive! :-)

We are all totally slack out!

I would be representing Andre for tomorrow's Nike Human Race (race starts at 4:15pm) I hope I would be able to do well for the race!

Decided to first post with the ending point...

When the clock hit 1300 hours, Nat Geo City Chase 2008, amazing race around city starts. Each team are to complete 10 chasepoints out of 17 chasepoints and all team must be back by 19oo hours.

New to amazing race, both Edwin and I spend a total of 40 minutes deciding on the route to take and most importantly to figure out where are all the chasepoints. I called up Alvin Lim asking him to go online to check some chasepoints for me.

PS: Pls figure out those chasepoints and I will tell you whether it's correct or wrong... haha

It's really cool racing under the heavy rain! Poor Edwin got keep forcing by me to run and run instead to take public transport... Out of the whole race, we only took 6 transports (from Suntec to Indoor Stadium, From Indoor Stadium to Lavender, From Bugis to Bukit Merah Sembawang Waste, From Bukit Merah Blk 1 to Heeren, From Heeren back to Central) Others than those stated, others are all purely running and running!!!!

Now after the whole race, my left calf are been wrapped with bandage to tightenthe muscle... I went Sentosa yesterday with Gordon and some Archer Coy Specialists + Officers; while playing 2 on 2 I got my calf muscle pull ... Just now race I keep running and refuse to listen to Edwin's advice to take transport; it kind of injury furthermore!

We managed to complete the whole day (clearing 10 chasepoints) within 5 hours 47 minutes!

No pay no gain!
